Thought I'd tell you guys about it.

Kinja'd!!!

It was a '92 gts-t (so rb20, single turbo) with a few common mods like coilovers, exhaust, more boost and bigger piping. It was the first right hand drive car I'd ever driven and, surprisingly, it didn't throw me off as much as I expected it to. I got it going easily enough and found shifting with my left hand came almost as naturally as shifting with my right. The seller wouldn't let me take it out further than the parking lot where we met because of that fact it was my first time in a RHD car, which is understandable, however he drove it rather spiritedly in an effort to impress me. And impress me it did. Even off boost, I was surprised how quick it got going. Also made the nifty blow-off valve sound with every gear shift (I'm impressed easily).

All in all, it was very similar to my old MkII Supra in that both are small, tossable, rwd, and sat on sporty coilovers. Difference is my MkII has a way better sounding exhaust note (I still maintain the 6m in that thing sounds better than an e46 M3), while the skyline is way faster (or does it seem like that because it's so much smaller than my daily...)

The seller wants to sell it for 8500 but I don't think I'll pay anywhere near that considering it's got 150,000 kms on the clock and the fact there's an R33 GTR with almost half the mileage for sale for only 4 grand more. Also, the seller wouldn't touch the redline on our ride, keeping the rpms below 5k, even after I asked him to demonstrate full throttle. Kind of a red flag for me. Also the A/F sensor wasn't connected, despite the fact he had a gauge, so I have no idea how well it's tuned. He also uses the car for drifting so who knows how badly it's been beaten on.

My plan is to lowball him and if he sells it to me for cheap, I'll have a car I can easily flip with an interior and paint restoration. I have no doubt he can sell the car for 8500 to some jdm fanboy but the fact he's looking to sell ASAP means I might be able to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

While in the autopark part of town I test drove a new mustang GT too. Didn't actually think I'd get seat time but the sales dude let me take it for a jaunt. It was a premium and had the brembo brake package with the 3.73s and let me tell you, 420 hp through a six speed and that rear end... pickup was insane. I would consider trading up but I'd miss the rawness of my 'stang. One thing that the testdrive brought to light though is how horrible my base mustang seats are. I'm for sure going to look into swapping in a better seat after today.

uhhh thanks for reading. Shout out to crazedclay, our local skyline regular, for helpful tips.

I'm thinking of buying a R32 GTR in Japan... Probably will do the RWD switch trick with it... Glad to see the Gts-t is to your taste. If I decide to go the cheap way, I might end up buying a mint Gts-t instead of the GTR...

actually I'm thinking of redoing my exhaust going longtube headers with an exhaust bypass instead so my car sounds like this

You're in Canada, right? Sell it to some JDM fanbitch in the US for $15k.

definitely try low balling him and seeing of you can get it as a project car. You can then fix it up and if you need to sell I can give you the numbers of a bunch of jdm fanboys at my school who have more money than sense and would kill for a skyline.

Thanks haha. But it's so true! People here flip their shit over JDM cars and if it's an 89, it can be brought in no problem.
